Ah at last Autumn is here. Not that it has been a bad summer I suppose, what with the Olympics and all, but I do think that on the whole I prefer the autumn. For one thing in Britain, we are actually more likely to see the sun in the Autumn. Not that I’m particularly bothered about seeing the sun in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly don’t mind a bit if sun, I just think that we bang on about it to much. Yes it’s all very nice when it’s shinning, as long as it doesn’t get stifling that is, in which case it’s a bloody arse ache. What I really dislike though is not the sun itself, but the way in which the British go on and on about how they are going to get some of it.

Yes everyone just loves to blather on about how they hate it in blighty because it’s so cold and miserable all the time and how they are going to chuck it all in and get on a plane to somewhere more sunny, where they can sit on a beach all day, drinking bear and waving their premium credit card about like a wand. And then what? What precisely are you all going to do when you leave the beach? My experience of hot sunny beaches in hot sunny climes, is that there is bugger all else to do in these places but sit on the beach. Perth in Western Australian for instance has got a lot of sun and a lot of beaches, but precious little else that would encourage any civilised person to stay there for any length of time. The locals are so pleased with the fact that they have so much sun and so many beaches, that they seem completely unconcerned that their city has nothing else to offer but an extremely large shopping centre. I didn’t really like Perth.

No London may be cold and wet sometimes, although never as cold and wet as the British like to think it is, but it has so much else and it is those things that make life worth living. So let’s appreciate what we have got and stop worrying about the things, like the sun, that we don’t have.

An individual posted a comment on my blog and told me that I was committing a big mistake by using the Internet as an outlet for the frustrations I faced when dealing with my family members. In an ideal world, I would talk to my family members and continue talking until they understand what I am saying. However, we do not live in an ideal world. If I were to force my opinion upon my family members, chances are high that they would stop appreciating me completely. In such a scenario, using the internet as an outlet for my frustration can actually help me improve my relation with my family members.

Envy, it’s not an uncommon emotion to have. I’m sure you’ve felt it at one point this month. Come on you’re not a saint. I’m honest enough to admit I feel it most days. It can overcome me through a variety of ways. I might be watching TV and see some talentless nonentity presenting a programme or being handed an undeserved award. What goes through my mind after relentlessly mocking them is imagining myself in the same position and knowing I could do an infinitely better job of it. I might be browsing a newspaper website’s opinion page and notice how poor some of the supposed ‘polemics’ are being argued. I make clear my strong opinions on the matter via the comments section underneath, albeit using a pseudonym.

What really gets my goat though is what takes place at my workplace. I’ve been in my job for nearly four years now and unfortunately I got in at the wrong time, just as the financial crisis hit. The person I was replacing had been on a certain salary, which I was fully qualified for, but my employers (for what I can only assume were budgetary reasons) altered the job title and cut £5,000 off the annual wage. I had hoped this was only a temporary measure but several years on and another staff member gone and I’m still in the same boat. There’s only six of us in our department but I’m on an hourly pay rate similar to the youngest staff member. My dentist continually asks how my molars are so worn away, I lie to him but the real reason is that they’re grinding and gnashing away as I look on in envy at some of my colleagues. On a wage that I should be on they go about their daily work in a manner I would sum up as SLACKING!!!

Lazy people who just arse around the office for more money then most of us, just really get my goat! What makes them so special?

My eye is always on them as they fail to pass on important details to customers, e.g. regulations we expect clients to abide by. Then there’s the way they put to personal use printer paper meant solely for customers, their ease when it comes to customer service, etc. I could go on and on. I know they’re aware of my low opinion of them, which explains their hesitant interaction with me…OK basically non-existent interaction with me. I don’t care, I’m patient. I’ll outlast the lot of them all and get a wage at this company that matches up to my skills and my opinion of myself, which is quite substantial I have to say.

The inquiry into the phone-hacking scandal has been seen as a major event in British journalism. It has brought down the News of the World and some high-level scalps including Rebekah Brooks and now News International chairman James Murdoch. What gets me about the whole thing is that people are in any way surprised. British tabloid newspapers over the last decade have routinely quoted phone calls or answering machine messages, including those of the royal family. Unless you think either Charles or Camilla gave tapes to the press, the only possible answer is that they were obtained through hacking! Now everyone acts stunned when they hear that such practices are commonplace. It seems to me like waiting until your house is swarming with cockroaches before calling an insect control firm, rather than stopping the problem at the start.

These newspapers print rubbish. They show pictures of women without make-up on going to the shops, point and laugh at their cellulite or go “phwoar” at their boobs when a paparazzo has sneaked a long-range shot of them on holiday. It is disgraceful, it is unpleasant and it is certainly not journalism. However, the problem does not start with the ‘newspaper’. It starts with you, the reader. The only reason the tabloid press prints this drivel is because it sells issues.

The outcry after the death of Princess Diana and the subsequent promises by the tabloids to avoid paparazzi shots was short-lived. It was not long before they became routine practice again. I did not join the masses to weep at the death of Diana – I did not know her. However, I also do not buy the Sun, the News of the World, the Daily Mail, the People, the Daily Sport etc, and thus did not contribute to her demise. People should take a look at themselves before pointing the finger at others.

It can be a very difficult thing, to try and work out the best way of how to get your ex boyfriend back. It really does depend on the individual situation, and in particular, whether you finished it with him or visa versa, whether there was any cheating involved, and how things were left between you. One thing is for sure though, it is never a good idea to play games and mess around if you are serious about getting him back. I learnt this the hard way…

Instead of sitting about feeling sorry for yourself, whilst flipping through kitchen catalogues looking at toasters and microwaves, why not read on…. and brush up on your relationship skills.

If you were to blame for the breakup, then you should expect to do some grovelling in order to make him realise how sorry you are, and to make him feel like he wants you back. If it was mainly his fault, then you need to let him know that you have found a way to forgive him, and you can move on. On thing is for sure, the time you have spent apart from each other will make it easier for you both to re-assess your relationship. If you both feel the same way about each other then things should work out.

Make sure that you don’t leave things up to chance. Whatever the situation, you need to take control and make the first move. Waiting for him to do so could be a bad idea, as you are giving him the control. If he knows that you want him back then he may just wait and wait, whilst he enjoys being single for a while. This is not fair on you, and you shouldn’t let it happen. If you want to get your ex back then you should instigate the process and talk to him. Straightforward and honest is the only way to go with this. You know you better than anyone how to get you ex back as you know what makes him tick; but don’t wait around for too long whatever you decide to do, as his mind may start to wonder elsewhere.

Why is it that people do not want to listen to me explain about the state of the economy? It seems as if people are more concerned with what soaps are on the TV or what Kate Middleton has been wearing this week. Sooner or later people will wish that they had listened to me instead, and then they might be a little more educated in the ways of the world.

I have been saying for a number of years now that the government is not actually to blame for the ongoing pension crisis, as the cause of the problem is simply a matter of numbers. People always want to moan about this government, or the last one, but in reality some of the problems are completely out of their control. Another thing is that the job problem is not something that can be fixed by online recruitment software, as it is a much deeper problem than anyone can imagine.

Anyway…Going back to pensions, the problem is that the demographic model in the country has changed dramatically in the last 40 years, and the numbers are not working in our favour any more. There used to be a pyramid system where there were a large number of working people that were earning money and paying into the system, and a much smaller amount of people in the ‘dependants' layer on top of this who were being supported by these workers.

Now the amount of people in this top layer is swelling, as the mid section is slimming down. This means that where there used to be 15 working people to every dependant, now there is only 10. The simple math of the situation means that it is harder to find the money to pay for the pensions, and this is not really the fault of the government at all.

I have had a huge awakening in my life recently, and it seems like I see everything in a completely different way, but when I try and share my thoughts, feelings and concerns with people they are either totally disinterested or they think that I am a nuissance for being different from the rest of them.

I am talking about the huge disregard for all forms of life that goes on each day on this planet, by man.

I have recently become a vegan, after seeing a number of documentaries and films on the subject of animal cruelty, and it has made me completely change my ways, instantly. Now I was always a meat eater, and my wife has been a vegetarian since I met her, but when we began to look into the cruelty that is involved in meat and dairy production, we both became vegans immediately.

Now I don’t expect everybody else to change their ways just because I have, but I would expect people to be respectful of my decisions; especially those that are supposed to care about me.

It has since occurred to me that meat eating seems to be a macho thing for men, and it is a very alpha male thing to make fun of anybody who doesn’t eat a big steak! What is a alpha male? Well it is a male who is trying to establish himself as the leader among others. This usually involves proving his superior strength and physical prowess. Now for some reason, everyone is under the impression that eating the most amount of meat possible and being involved in animal cruelty is a macho thing to do and they seem to be proud of themselves for doing so. I think it is pathetic, and want absolutely nothing to do with it. I would prefer to show what a good person I am by causing the least amount of harm to others, but hey, I must be the crazy one right?

Why people never listen, why they never meet your expectations and never keep their promise. I am really starting to lose it guys, I am telling you. Currently I am organizing an origami workshop for kids and for the past week I have been banging my head to come up with an original idea, which will keep all kids entertained and make them happy. Yes, you can say that I am pretty devoted to the cause, but there is one slight problem. It appears to me that no one else is. I cannot do everything myself and I actually depend on several people, people who definitely care less than me. Some of them are alright, but others are like… yeah whatever I cannot be bothered. And as I have a small budged, I have to sacrifice a lot. I do things in my spare time, I had to go to several shops and buy origami paper, paper wire, tin packaging, pencils, scissors and what not. I do things that have nothing to do with my current position in the company, and so on. I guess that the whole problem comes from the fact that I care too much. I simply want everything to be perfect so each and every youngster can remember this day with a smile. Anyhow, the worst thing is that some people are having a pretty hard time following orders and remembering things. I have to repeat the same thing many times until everyone gets what they have to do. Oh my, I just hope that everything ends well. I will write to you in one week time to let you know how it went.

So I stayed at a lovely place recently while I was in the Bahamas, it was the February Point Resort Estates. This hotel is made up of villas in a gated, residential resort, located on the Great Exuma island. This Island has been named one of the top five islands to inhabit in the world. There are 20 villas situated among the private homes, which makes it feel homier.

These are two-story villas so they have plenty of room for you to relax after a long day on the beach or sight seeing. Each of these villas are painted in a pretty pastel color and have great views of Elizabeth Harbour. They have anywhere from two to six spacious bedrooms, along with a dining room and kitchen area and each villa is cleaned once a day by a maid.

When staying at the February Point Resort Estates, you have full access to the amenities provided by the gated community. These include a waterfront restaurant and a private community center. The community center has many facilities including a pool and several sports areas. It is also very safe here so you can wear your silver jewellery wherever you want.

The serenity of the Exumas, the friendly people and the most beautiful waters you will ever find make this a perfect place to visit and get away from all your worries. Once you have stayed there, you will want to keep returning over and over again – possibly even buying a home there when you retire.
